Carter is the Regional Focal Point for Europe at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) Youth Caucus, a Legal Fellow with the International Lawyers Project, and a Wolfson College Dr John T Grantham Scholar at the University of Cambridge. In 2017-22, Carter worked for United Nations ESCAP, where she co-founded Asia’s first-ever agritech research platform. In 2019-2021, she also researched and taught geopolitics and tech law as a Yenching Scholar at Peking University

With extensive experiences in commercial tech sales, Big 4 advisory, and early-stage VC-backed tech entrepreneurship, Karim is a Commercial Strategist (EMEA) with Interlink. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Karim developed a deep understanding of the Asia Pacific region’s dynamics through his work and academic studies. He holds a MSc in Contemporary Chinese Studies from Oxford and a BA in International Relations and Chinese (Mandarin) from SOAS.

Michael Yip is a Research Associate in “China, Law and Development” at the University of Oxford, where he is also the Research Cluster Lead for legal services. Previously, he was a British civil servant and worked at the World Bank’s Legal Vice Presidency, specialising in export and infrastructure finance. Michael also represented the UK at the G7 and ASEAN Summits.
